As 2016 comes to an end, looking back, the cricketing world saw some remarkable performances in bowling all year round. The debate of Test cricket not being exciting enough has been stalled for now as we saw some very enthralling matches every now and then, thanks to the sincere efforts of the bowlers – spinners and seamers alike. 5. Stuart Broad – 6/17 vs South Africa, Johannesburg
In January, England floored South Africa at their home in the third match of the series within three days to take a winning lead of 2-0. That’s all because of an exemplary performance of fast and seam bowling by Stuart Broad. The second innings of the African team folded at 83 runs with Broad sending the first six batsmen of the batting order one by one to the pavilion. He gave away only 17 runs in his 12.1 overs to become the third most successful bowler for England.
